Nice website, couple of comments/tips on the upper CA replacement. The Upper straight arm (forward position) is locked into the subframe assembly on the bushing end. This is actually what requires removing the entire subframe, not the circlip itself. You could in fact drive the bolt out from up above but you still cannot remove the arm while it's installed on the car. It simply won't fit.

If it's easier, you can leave the shock installed and remove the subframe and shock as one unit. That's how I do it now and it eliminates removing the two 13mm shock bolts which are recessed and any orientation problems going back in.

Finally, make sure you check the Bentley and/or mark the position of the rear arms. They need to be at a specific angle so the bushing is in the correct position when the car is on the ground. I draw a line on the subframe which matches the angle of the old one before I remove it. If not, it's a specific measurement done with a tape measure.

Are you sure it's the same one? It should just be an electrical wire, the boot is just to cover the oil and dirt from getting into the contact, it should just be a circular contact. If you're afraid of breaking the wire because it's too tight, slide a little sharp screw driver at the base and pry it out slowly. It's just a plug.

Hello Jeffe,
You don't have to really disassemble the whole trunk like my article, if you look at the pictures and videos, the part that kinks and causes all these problem is right at the rubber boot. Lift up the boot, you can see the kink(s) and fix it from there. No booster needed, the antenna on the cabriolet is very good, just got disconnected when the ground cable touches the signal cable because of the kinks. Good luck.

I've got a 2005 A4 cabrio that's been exhibiting the broken antenna cable sypmptoms -- intermittent signal related to opening/closing the trunk. In your experience, were the breaks pretty obvious to visual and/or manual inspection? I can't see or feel anything that's obviously different from the rest of the cable. And I'm not having any luck with the "move it till the signal improves/fails", as the only station I can pick up comes in even with everything disconnected (a nearby, overboosted broadcast antenna).
