In case you have CP, you can try to remove it &#8211;<a href=\"\/\/www.audiworld.com\/forums\/a8-s8-d3-platform-discussion-60\/component-protection-problems-solution-here-2911464\/page2\/#post25264923\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><button class=\"w3-button w3-red w3-round-xlarge\"> read this post.<\/button><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Unless you have all the right equipment\u00a0to update &#8211; leave it to the dealers to do it or you may brick your MMI Head Unit and it&#8217;s costly to replace. Don&#8217;t update software if everything is working, unless you have to when <a href=\"\/\/www.dognmonkey.com\/audi\/what-you-should-know-must-know-about-ami-on-mmi-2g.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><button class=\"w3-button w3-blue w3-round-xlarge\">adding AMI unit<\/button><\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>The software on mine is 1190 &#8211; latest is 4610 &#8211; The intermediate is 3360 where AMI is supported and NAV 10 also. Many people upgraded directly from 1190 to 4610, if you&#8217;re doing that way, then just use <a title=\"upgrade from 3360 to 4610\" href=\"\/\/www.dognmonkey.com\/audi\/update-audi-mmi-3360-to-4610.html\"><button class=\"w3-button w3-green w3-round-xlarge\">CD1 &amp; CD2 straight to update to 4610<\/button><\/a> instead of the intermediate <\/em><em>4F0 906 961 AB<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>1. Remove all the CD out of the CD changer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>2. Put in the update CD to CD1 (first slot).<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>3. Charge the battery or keep the engine running outside and NOT in the garage (CO poisoning).\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>4. After the update &#8211; Battery Level option was taken out, I need to use VAG-COM VCDS to put it back in &#8211; All the voice control telephone and navigation directory have to be re programmed. Now, I can use the Nav DVD 2010. It took almost 1 hour to update. <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Must use the charger with at least 6A and charge while updating.
