It still have the same battery since we bought it in Sept 2003. The transmission starts to act up, goes into limp mode whenever it wants, so we can&#8217;t use it to drive long distance any more, because in limp mode, it&#8217;s locked in 3rd gear. We will donate the car next year. It&#8217;s been ultra reliable &#8211; starts right up, drive smooth and powerful. It&#8217;s a daily driver to and from work and everywhere else in\u00a0between. Comfortable and fun to drive. Everything works still in the car. It doesn&#8217;t burn oil at all.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Cost this year for this A8L:\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8211;<i>\u00a0<a title=\"new wheels and tires A8L\" href=\"\/\/www.dognmonkey.com\/audi\/install-hub-centric-rings-fit-66-6mm-wheels-a8l-57-1mm-hubs.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">$800 for 4 new Pirellis tires and wheels<\/a> (30k miles old tires).<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8211;\u00a0<em><a title=\"Oil change A8L\" href=\"\/\/www.dognmonkey.com\/audi\/change-oil-on-audi-a8l-d3.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">$60 for Mobile 1 oil change, filter<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>&#8211; <a title=\"rear brakes A8L\" href=\"\/\/www.dognmonkey.com\/audi\/replace-rear-epb-brake-pads-a8l.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">$40 Rear Brake pads <\/a>(34k miles since last).<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"igallery\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a class=\"preview\" href=\"\/\/www.dognmonkey.com\/audi\/wp-content\/uploads\/newwheels1.jpg\" title=\"New wheels and tires\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2368\" src=\"\/\/www.dognmonkey.com\/audi\/wp-content\/uploads\/newwheels1-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"New wheels and tires\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dognmonkey.com\/audi\/wp-content\/uploads\/newwheels1-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.dognmonkey.com\/audi\/wp-content\/uploads\/newwheels1.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>At 95k miles, the suspension starts to make noise while moving in\/out of the drive ways at low speed due to upper control arms wearing out. We will replace them next year since it doesn&#8217;t hurt the performance and safety of the car.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ggmyfNY-saA\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><button class=\"w3-button w3-black w3-round-xlarge\">3. 2008 Q7 3.6L: 41k miles<\/button><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>We had the Q7 since April 2008 and believe it or not, we haven&#8217;t had to spend any money to fix the car at all, except new tires last year for the snow trip. The car is also ultra reliable, everything works and solid as a rock. It still have original brakes and everything else.
