If you’ve just signed up with Inmotion Hosting like me, you will receive an email to direct you to your new server for your website and you want to start your first blog using the popular WordPress 3.2.1, here is how we did ours. Click on click here to get started and the login panel will come up. Sign in with your username and password.

The AMP panel will come up, there you’ll see all these links and CPanel, click the Cpanel and it will take you to the best Control Panel in all hosting services. The shortcuts we should be familiar with are the email, file manager, mySQL database, myphpAdmin.

If you’re not going to customize anything, then the Fantastico can install WordPress for you very easily, but since we’re going to create 3 WordPress blogs using 1 database and we like to do things manually. <\/em><\/p>\n

To install WordPress or any blogging system, we need to create a data base for the blog, you can use mySQLDatabase wizard or like us, we just use mySQLDatabase. Click the icon and a window will come up, create new database, default will have your usercpanel account (different from your login account of AMP) with “_”, just add the name of the database, then create database user, same manner with password.

Now we need to add this database user to the database we just created and all the privileges.<\/em><\/p>\n

Now we have the database ready for any blog, we need to download the WordPress 3.2.1 (current this time) and upload it to our root directory and extract it, it will create a folder “wordpress” with all files needed in it, rename the “wordpress” to any blog name you want because later, when we access this blog, it will have the url address “\/\/www.dognmonkey.com\/renamedwordpress”.<\/em><\/p>\n

Open the renamedwordpress folder to copy “wp_config_sample” to ‘wp_config” and edit the “wp_config”: database name, database user, password, and table “wp_name” for the blog if you plan to use the same database for other blogs.

Now our WordPress blog is ready to be installed, type the url on the browser pointing to our “renamedwordpress” folder “\/\/www.dognmonkey.com\/wpblog” and the installation screen will come up, just fill in the blanks and finish it up. Make sure to set the security rights after done with the wp_config file from “644” to “444”.<\/em><\/p>\n
