dognmonkey.com seems to be targeted by many types of soliciting businesses, this time it’s a little questionable from company in China. I don’t know if it’s legitimate or just a new way to get businesses from domain owners in US or all over the world.<\/em><\/p>\n

First, I received an email from a seemed to be legitimate office titled<\/em><\/p>\n

Regarding Asia\/Cn\/Hk domain name & Internet Keyword<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Dear Manager,
\n(If you are not the person who is in charge of this, please forward this to your CEO,Thanks)
\nThis email is from China domain name registration center, which mainly deal with the domain name registration in China and Asia. We received an application from Huasheng Ltd on August\u00a012, 2013. They want to register ” dognmonkey ” as\u00a0their internet keyword and China\/Asia\/Hongkong (CN\/ASIA\/HK) domain names. But after checking it, we find this name conflicts with your company. In order to deal with this matter better, so we send you email and confirm whether this company is your distributor or business partner in China or not?<\/p>\n

I replied and confirmed we have nothing to do with the company in China.<\/em><\/p>\n

2 days later, I received a letter from some name@hotmail.com confirming that the need to use my dognmonkey domain name for his\/her business – and you notice dognmonkey is not conventional as dogandmonkey. Anyhow, I wrote back and tell them to use dogandmonkey or something else creative.<\/em><\/p>\n

Our company based in chinese office, our company has submitted the “ortoma ” as CN\/Asia\/Hk domain name and Internet Keyword, we are waiting for Mr. Jim’s approval. We think this name is very important for our products in Chinese and Asian and Hongkong market. Even though Mr. Jim advises us to change another name, we will persist in this name.<\/p>\n

Next day, I received another email from YG Registry recommended spending money.<\/em><\/p>\n

In our opinion, maybe they do the similar business as your company and register it to promote his company.
\nAccording to the domain name registration principle: The domain names and internet keyword which applied based on the international principle are opened to companies as well as individuals. Any companies or individuals have rights to register any domain name and internet keyword which are unregistered. Because your company haven’t registered this name as CN\/ASIA\/HK domains and internet keyword on the internet, anyone can obtain them by registration. However, in order to avoid this conflict, the trademark or original name owner has priority to make this registration in our audit period. So I made an inquiry about the cost of registering these China domain names but I never reply with the forms.<\/em><\/p>\n

Well, let it be, if the company in China wants the name so badly, they can have it and use it as long as it’s not dotcom. These China companies have all kinds of ways to trick US companies. It does seem like Mr. Wang is really working very hard to help us to register with his company for fees. Whatever it is, he’s over caring.<\/em><\/p>\n
