Normally, we already have a Windows OS installed already on the main drive, these days Windows 7 is popular, but XP is still out there. Regardless, all Windows based OS uses MBR (Master Boot Record) partitions and Mac OS uses GUID and MBR partitions. If we prepare and install everything correctly, we will have less headache to solve the dual boot menu.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Normally, there are 2 ways to dual boot a system, Windows boot loader or Chameleon (Mac loader). Most of OEM PCs or Laptop should have the 200Mb MBR. After we installed BCD to the MBR, <strong>DO NOT FORGET<\/strong> to make the same boot menu and save it again, if we forget this, we will need the rescue disk from Windows 7, this will be a pain. There are 2 ways to install Mac OS X on to these Windows system, install straight into the partition or install onto a USB drive, then restore to the prepared partition, whichever way you use, you will have to fix the Windows boot manager most of the time. In order to install Mac OS X to these Windows based systems, we need to use Windows to shrink 1 or 2 small partitions for dual or triple boot system. NOT POSSIBLE to install 2 Mac OS X&#8217;s on Windows 7 system (I tried it and it deleted my first Lion partition).<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OFl4Cza6Mq8?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">**** <em>Look at the video, all the OS&#8217;s can only be installed on Primary partitions and NOT logical partition. I installed Lion on the logical partition created and it wiped out my primary Mountain Lion and I have &#8220;chain booting error&#8221; ****<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>INSTALL MAC OS<\/strong><\/em> <strong><em>X<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>It doesn&#8217;t matter which tool you use to install Mac OS X, Unibeast or myHack, they all have to install Chameleon boot loader onto the partition, the difference is just the version of the Chameleon.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>1. The best way for installing Mac OS X is to install to a USB drive then restore it to the internal partition, with myHack installer, all you need is to re-store EasyBCD (same process as setting up) to the MBR and C. You may have <strong>a cursor after restoring or installing Mac OS X to the partition<\/strong>. What happened if we forgot to back up, just set up a new menu, install BCD to the boot sector, create the same boot menu to C, save it and reboot, it will boot to Windows Boot Manager.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>2. <\/em><em>When we boot to hard drive and Chameleon boot loader comes up instead of Windows Boot Manager.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a class=\"preview\" title=\"Chameleon Boot Manager\" href=\"\/media\/asusp8z68\/fixboot\/sm_p8_55.JPG\" rel=\"lightbox[bcd]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Chameleon Boot Manager\" src=\"\/media\/asusp8z68\/fixboot\/tn_p8_55.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"141\" \/><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <a class=\"preview\" title=\"Again boot from Windows partition to access Windows\" href=\"\/media\/asusp8z68\/fixboot\/sm_bootwindows.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[bcd]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Again boot from Windows partition to access Windows\" src=\"\/media\/asusp8z68\/fixboot\/tn_bootwindows.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"141\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Again, just boot with windows partition and re-store (install) EasyBCD to the boot sector and C:<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><\/em><em><strong>3. When we boot to hard drive and the Windows boot manager is there but Mac OS X partition boots with &#8220;chain booting error&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a class=\"preview\" title=\"Chain booting error\" href=\"\/\/www.dognmonkey.com\/media\/asusp8z68\/fixboot\/sm_p8_37.JPG\" rel=\"lightbox[bcd]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Chain Booting Error\" src=\"\/media\/asusp8z68\/fixboot\/tn_p8_37.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"141\" \/> <\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a class=\"preview\" title=\"Chain booting error\" href=\"\/\/www.dognmonkey.com\/media\/asusp8z68\/fixboot\/sm_p8_37.JPG\" rel=\"lightbox[bcd]\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>This problem mostly caused by the partition is not a primary partition in Windows. If the partition is primary, it&#8217;s missing the chameleon boot loader in the Mac OS X root partition, use USB myHack Installer to boot to Mac OS X &#8212;&gt; Run install chameleon on the drop down menu, when done, reboot the computer, one of the 2 scenarios above should appear, use chameleon boot loader to select Windows OS, fix the BCD and you should be good to go.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em> <strong><a class=\"preview\" title=\"Restore backed up BCD.\" href=\"\/media\/asusp8z68\/fixboot\/sm_backup.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[bcd]\">ALWAYS TRY TO RESTORE THE PREVIOUS BCD MENU before create a new one.<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>Using Chameleon boot loader to boot to windows 7 or Mac OS X (keep factory windows 7). This one should work with OEM PC with 100-200MB boot sector in the drive.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Use Multibeast or myHack Installer or Chameleon install package to install Chameleon boot loader onto the 100-200MB MBR boot sector of the drive. <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/f9rkTzlTKgA\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>a. <a class=\"ir\" title=\"remove the hard drive\" href=\"\/\/www.dognmonkey.com\/techs\/remove-hard-drive-on-lenovo-g770.html\">Remove the hard drive<\/a>, put it on a usb external adapter. I would do this if installing chameleon boot loader on partition 200MB works, I tried fix boot0:error with all possible ways described on the internet and none of them would work with this LAPTOP.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a class=\"preview\" title=\"boot0 error\" href=\"\/media\/lenovog770\/usblion\/sm_boot0_error.JPG\" rel=\"lightbox[sl1063]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: baseline; border: 3px solid black;\" title=\"boot0 error\" src=\"\/media\/lenovog770\/usblion\/tn_boot0_error.JPG\" alt=\"lenovo\" width=\"250\" height=\"141\" \/><\/a> <a class=\"preview\" title=\"try to fix boot0 error\" href=\"\/media\/lenovog770\/usblion\/sm_fixboot0error1.png\" rel=\"lightbox[sl1063]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: baseline; border: 3px solid black;\" title=\"try to fix boot0 error\" src=\"\/media\/lenovog770\/usblion\/tn_fixboot0error1.png\" alt=\"lenovo\" width=\"250\" height=\"205\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>b. Use external USB Mac OS X: format 200MB partition 1 (MBR) to Journaled Extended and install Multibeast or myHack on it, copy my &#8220;Extra&#8221; folder over the multibeast &#8220;Extra&#8221; folder. Test by reboot from the usb main hard drive to see if it boots to Tony boot menu. If it does, then put it back in the laptop.
