Since there are much support on Snow Leopard 10.6.7, I got the laptop back to install the retail snow leopard 10.6.3 and updated it to 10.6.7 and it worked with 1366x768x32 resolution every beautifully. Again, we need to know the device ids of the laptop.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Graphics GMA4500 0x2A428086<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>AHCI 0x29298086<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Ethernet Broadcom Gigabit 0x169814E4<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Wifi Intel 5100 0x42328086<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Monitor AUO20EC<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>So, before we start to do this, we need to install Easybcd 1.7.2 or the new one 2.2 version and setup. Since we had the 10.5.8 installed dual boot with windows 7 already, the easybcd already setup correctly for dual booting. Go out and buy the retail Snow Leopard 10.6.3, download 10.6.7 update combo, iboot, multibeast 3.4, patched gma4500kexts, a portable USB hard drive (this one will work with all intel supported systems-this is a must). If it was MBR, make sure to save all data before converting it to GUID because it will wipe out the disk. Install Multibeast 3.4 right away, the installation will fail due to some reasons, click ignore and re-install Multibeast 3.4 again, this time it will be OK. Click tab key and enter the boot flag: -v USBBusFix=Yes<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Now it will boot with 10.6.7 very nicely, but we only have 1024x768x32 resolution. We need to install <a class=\"iw\" title=\"patch kexts for GMA4500\" href=\"\/nucleuscms\/download-page.html\">patched kexts <\/a>for the 1366x768x32.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>After booted to 10.6.7 successfully, we need to install these 2 patched kexts: <\/em>AppleIntelGMAX3100.kext <em>and <\/em>AppleIntelGMAX3100FB.kext <em>using kext helper then run kext utility (installed from multibeast 3.4).<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><a class=\"preview\" title=\"run kext utility after installing kexts\" href=\"\/media\/slid5822u\/sm_kextutility.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[id5822]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: baseline; border: 2px solid black;\" title=\"run kext utility after installing kexts\" src=\"\/media\/slid5822u\/tn_kextutility.jpg\" alt=\"run kext utility after installing kexts\" width=\"300\" height=\"247\" \/><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>We should also install voodoobattery.kext while we&#8217;re here to have battery indicator showing.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a class=\"preview\" title=\"install voodoobattery.kext\" href=\"\/media\/slid5822u\/sm_batterykext.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[id5822]\"><em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"vertical-align: baseline; border: 2px solid black;\" title=\"install voodoobattery.kext\" src=\"\/media\/slid5822u\/tn_batterykext.jpg\" alt=\"install voodoobattery.kext\" width=\"300\" height=\"164\" \/><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>We also edit com.apple.plist in the Extra folder to add USBBusFix=Yes since this particular laptop doesn&#8217;t work very well for some reason.
