Stream Music Through Audi MMI via Bluetooth

06/08/2018 Modify AMI cable to stream audio with $10 30-Pin Bluetooth Receiver

11/29/2015 The cheapest, easiest way to do it is –

1. AMI to Auxiliary cable – works with all 2G & 3G .

2. USB Dongle –

3. Extension if the auxiliary cable is too short

Now bluetooth devices are inexpensive and used for transmit and receive data every where. It seems Audi cars are behind the time or try to milk consumer for more money. Even $40k Audi doesn’t even include music streaming via bluetooth ($20k Honda or Toyota include bluetooth music streaming as standard equipment). Anyhow, I just have to improvise to get the AMI working for friends and family.

  • If the Audi comes with AMI, then to stream music via bluetooth for less than $20.
  • If you have an analog TV tuner in the car, you can use one of the AV audio inputs to stream music via bluetooth.

  • I just purchase a 2006 Audi A8 Quattro from a friend who was the original owner. I love this car but it’s very sensitive to certain things like “led lights”. I want to say thank you for your posting and taking the time educate us. I’m still trying find the resister parts you have and duplicate what you did to the drl and fog light bulb. If you can let me know how to order the resister or if you can put it together for me and I can pay you for it, I would appreciate it. Please email me and let me know. Thank you. Dan
