Yosemite OSX On HP Envy 4-1117nr Ultrabook

2015-02-07 I think it’s best to patch kexts and dsdt yourself, but in case you have problems doing it, attached are my files for references. These files are patched to work with HP Envy4-1117nr i5-3317u HD4000. Wifi AR9285 & BCM943225HMB. Sleep/wake with lid close/open and no wake after 2 hours.

My Yosemite files for HP Envy4-1117nr

Yosemite OS X’s just been released a few days ago and I got it working on my HP Envy 4-1117nr i5-3317u HD4000. What’s new for installing this OSX. I do like it a lot.

1. All kexts must be signed – to avoid this, must boot with flag kext-dev-mode=1 .

2. If we’ve been using AppleACPIPlatform.kext rolled back version, the serial number is “unavailable” and you can’t go to iCloud or iTunes. Must use the new 3.1 version originally came with the OSX.

rolled back AppleACPIPlatform.kext

3. The sleep will wake up every 2 hours and reboots itself. There is a fix for this.

4. The lid closed doesn’t go to sleep.

5. GenericUSBXHCI.kext from Rehabman to work waking up from sleep and more reliable.

  • Hi 3dogs1monkey. I have an HP Envy 4-1102es that happens to be very close to your system too. I have been following some of your videos to get my system working and most things work now (except cpus=1, I can’t get it out yet). As adewale, I would be very greatfull if you could send me your dsdt.ami and ssds files. Thank you very much.

      • First of all, thank you very much for your files. I used them. I had done most of the work but patching dsdt was some big step yet. I understand I will surely have to do it anyway. Right now I have an error at boot saying pmLock: waited too long.
I guess it can have something to do with the modules I apply to the kernel. Right now I am applying kernelpatcher.dylib and HDAEnabler.dylib. Do you know If you needed anyone else? Could you put your chameleon plist or clover equivalent so I maybe guess something from it?
Thank you… I really appreciate your videos and info. I wouldn’t arrived so far without your videos.

      • Why do you need HDAEnabler.kext? Just use VoodooHDA.kext version 2.8.4, it does work extremely well, even mic & headphone sensing. How do you boot Chameleon if your laptop is UEFI? Learn to use Clover, it’s much better. Avoid using modules stuff. try cpus=1 instead of kernelpatcher.dylib
First time to boot using this org.chameleon.Boot.plist, add the flag -f, then after booted, use kextutility to update the cache. To boot with Chameleon, don’t boot with many options. I’ll make a video how to boot with chameleon, but clover is the way to go now.

    • what can not boot? watch all the videos from setting the bios and making the USB drive. Set bios to support legacy boot, not UEFI by default
