After 18 years and 88k miles, the brake pedal damper shock started to leak oil and no longer push the brake pedal out causing the handbrake light to come on sometimes over bumps. We had to manually pull the pedal out to clear the brake light.
I found the damper shock on Aliexpress generic for VW, Porsche brake pedal, it’s a little different but it works. The hardest part is to have force to push the damper into the brake pedal ball to secure it in place.
