If you don’t want to spend a lot of money for AMI system, you can use Analog TV Tuner to stream Audio
This is the best way and very solid.
1. AMI to Auxiliary cable – works with all 2G & 3G .
2. USB Dongle –
I got a new iPhone 6 and it has lightning 8 pins connector which doesn’t fit the AMI 30 pin connector that comes with my Audi Q7 and A8. I tried the new bluetooth adaptor for 30 pins dock and it works perfectly with both iPhone 6 and Android phones. Now I don’t have to connect old iPod and iPhone to the AMI any more, the music will be streaming wirelessly on the fly. All we need is to buy this one

Does your D3 A8 have an installed IPod dock? I have a 2007 A8 without the IPod dock and am wondering if this setup connects to the MMI via the Bluetooth from the phone or if there is another connection…

Hi Jackie,
You need to get an AMI to connect any iPod or this Bluetooth device, it’s painless if you can find a good one on EBay. I don’t know how much a new one cost, but it’s a must if you want other music source besides the radio.
